4 October 2021 – Jalon Hidden Valley

14 of us for today’s walk

Jan was back marker again, but did it from the middle of the group!

Nice easy one for the start of our regular walking programme

It was nice to have Helen and Roger walking with us again

Colin gave Jan with a present during the banana break

A new whistle as her badge of office as official back marker

We were less than impressed by the strange rattle noise it produced

The weather was much cooler throughout the walk today

But fortunately sunny for both our banana and lunch breaks

Many of us were a little apprehensive about doing longer walks again

But everyone seemed to manage ok and enjoy the experience

Despite the track being a little muddy after quite heavy rain last night

We had to use our alternative seating area for our picnic lunch

The finca we usually sat outside is now occupied

No complaints, we have had to put up with much worse

The road back to Lliber was closed for pipe laying

But it was open for pedestrians and we were able to use it OK

I hope that there is an alternative road for motor traffic for residents

We felt the extra mileage by the time we reached the bar

But it was a lovely, and very enjoyable, walk

Stats

Time taken – 5 hours

Distance – 15 km

Total ascent – 295 metres

Temperature – 17c to 22c
