7 June 2021 – Jalon Valley Circular

This was our first summer walk of the year

Most of the group are relatively new

So even this old favourite was new to them

We included the cross country detour we use on the Almond Blossom walk

Part of the track was overgrown and looked so different I had to rely on my satnav

We started at 0900 on a relatively cool (24c) but sunny morning

The valley looked surprisingly green and fresh

Covid restrictions have now been removed on numbers who can walk together

So we are looking to recruit a few more members

It is clear that none of our previous members want to walk at present

So it looks like we will have to build up the group again in October

It was quiet and very peaceful at our ermita picnic site

It is usually well tended, but looked overgrown after the recent rain and sun

Lovely walk and so nice to be able to walk, even in June

Stats

Time taken – 3 hours

Distance – 9 km

Total Ascent – 100 metres

Temperature – 24-26c
